South Korea’s telecom operators have released super-fast 5G internet networks ahead of the program in an effort to become the country’s first company to start serving the world.
5G-enabled phones are capable of downloading data 20 times faster than current 4G devices, and theoretically, users will be able to download movies almost instantly.
The fastest networks will also develop direct streaming and streaming services for music and video, allowing for a wider range of virtual reality services.
The 5G networks of three South Korean telephone operators were launched at 11:00. However, South Korea’s 5G services were initially available to those who were selected as company promoters, including the figurative artist Yuna Kim, whom SK Telecom announced as “one of the first customers”.
