At its Unpacked event on Aug. 5, Samsung will introduce five new devices, the company’s head of mobile confirmed Monday in a blog post.
Tae-moon Roh, who in January took over the day-to-day leadership of Samsung’s mobile business, called the new products “power devices” and suggested they ‘re likely to include wearables alongside phones. In a post in Samsung’s online newsroom, users will “live life to the fullest with these devices in your hand (and in your ears and on your wrist),” he noted.
“These devices offer our vision of being the innovator of new mobile experiences that flow seamlessly and continuously everywhere we go,” he wrote. “They combine power and seamless functionality, be it at work or playing, at home or away.”
Instead of holding a press event in person, Samsung will host a Digital Unpacked event at 10 a.m. ET/7 hrs. PT unveil its new devices on Aug. 5. The plan follows similar moves from companies like Apple, which during the novel coronavirus pandemic shifted their events online. Samsung, “will broadcast live from South Korea for the first time,” it said.
